DOCUMENTAIRE : La commune de Chambon-sur-Lignon, située dans le département Haute-Loire, Massif central, s’est distinguée durant la Seconde Guerre mondiale pour avoir caché des personnes ayant décidé d’échapper au Service du Travail Obligatoire, mais aussi nombreux (enfants) juifs. Yad Vashem a ainsi honoré individuellement par une médaille « Justes parmi les nations » plus d’une quarantaine Sauveurs », que village lui-même et communes voisines d’un diplôme d’honneur collectif préservés déportation mort certaine à Auschwitz.
